In honor of the 40 years of service to the many churches an organizations he has served throughout his ministry, we invite you to join us in celebration of Rev. Steve Gordon's retirement. July 1st will be Rev. Steve's final Sunday sermon at 10:00 am and Mayflower is hosting a community reception after worship, at 11:15 am.
We also celebrate that Rev. Amy Carter has accepted our Call to be our Designated Pastor as of August. As a long-time pastor in Butte and Missoula, she knows, understands and loves Montana. She has a passion for preaching the Gospel and relating it to our lives, inclusiveness, pastoral care, and growing the church. We are happy to welcome this wonderful, talented pastor to lead and support our congregation. Please join women from Mayflower and Epsilon Sigma Alpha charitable sorority to make sandwiches for the Salvation Army food van. We’ll meet at 10 am on Thursday, June 21st, and each third Thursday of the month.
Food Banks don’t take summers off. This is a crucial time for us since children are out of school and often do not have school meal programs in place and more families to turn to local food banks for help. You can help us fill this gap and earn match dollars by supporting the CenturyLink Campaign to Fight Hunger now through June 15th. Go to www.centurylink.com/fooddrive (scroll down the list, alphabetical by State/City, until you see BILLINGS FOOD BANK) and make your donation. We would GREATLY appreciate it! Are there other ways you can help?? YES!
We are always looking for donation items for live/silent auctions, locations for our holiday donation barrels and your time during special events. If you have any questions or you think one of these options will work for you, please return email or give Jana Niemeyer a call at the Billings Food Bank - 406-259-2856 ext 105. With school out and summer upon us, we know you are looking for some fun activities to add to your list. The Institute for Peace Studies has you covered this upcoming weekend!
Make sure to come hungry and ready for arts and crafts as well as local cultural entertainment. The 25th Festival of Cultures is a way to have a celebration of the cultural diversity in our community while learning about our neighbor's heritage. This event is free and open to all of the community no matter the age. |
