Good Morning Mayflower! This last weekend many from our church attended the Conference Annual Meeting Regional Assembly. This conference combines what is known historically as the Annual Meeting of the United Church of Christ and the Regional Assembly of the Disciples of Christ Annual Meeting into one partnership gathering. The theme of the event was “Back to the Future” (unity, faithfulness, creativity). “Gathering to encourage, to resource and to strengthen one another as God’s called people in the changing landscape of the 21st century.” We met, ate, and worshipped together; attended interest groups on various topics; and listened to our wonderful guest speaker, Rebecca Hale, address our theme. During lunch on Saturday the UCC met as Associations and after lunch the UCC met to address the business of the Montana-Northern Wyoming Conference while the DOC met as a Regional Assembly to conduct separate business. The main business of the UCC was to approve Changes in the National By-laws and the by-laws of our conference. Both were unanimously approved. We also approved the budget and Conference Treasurer, June Genger, faithful member of Mayflower and our treasurer, received a plaque for her thirteen years of devoted service to our conference. Congratulations and thank you! After adjournment we rejoined our DOC partners to hear Rebecca once more and closed with a beautiful worship. Thank you to our Mayflower people who ventured to Helena: Delegates Carol Blades, Kirth Erickson, Jane Jones, Ed Stickney, Melanie Dyce who substituted for Donna Bennett; guests Joan Erickson, Jessica Stickney, Julie Gordon, Elaine & Andy Black; June Genger, Kim Harris for all the youth, Dee Dee Welhaven as a national representative to Justice and Witness, and pastor Steve. If you have any questions about the conference, please feel free to ask Steve or the Delegates.

Mayflower is a United Church of Christ/ Congregational local church community of women, men, youth and children who seek to worship and serve God in the midst of a progressive understanding of our place and call in a diverse, exciting and promise-filled creation.
Mayflower has declared itself to be a Just Peace Church and an Open and Affirming Congregation.
We gathered in 1960, and since then have continued to look for and tried to follow the example and spirit of the Christ who cares for and about all within the human family. We don’t always agree with each other, but we do look for ways to appreciate and respect our variety of perspectives and our diversity of gifts with thanks to God that there is always more light to break forth from the word.
